360 Degree Web’s PlatinumSecret
(containing introductory access control security and password-vault
features) is bundled
with all TravelMate notebooks from Acer targeted for business
users. For additional security, TravelMate notebooks contain
PlatinumPAS, a BIOS-level pre-boot authentication using SmartCards,
to ensure only authorized users can power up the notebook.
SmartCard-enabled TravelMate
notebooks and Tablet PCs with PlatinumSecret and PlatinumPAS
can be purchased from Acer’s online store, and from Acer
resellers and distributors worldwide.
TravelMate users can upgrade from PlatinumSecret v1.x to OtaniumSuite
features by purchasing either the OtaniumSuite Pro kit or
the OtaniumSuite PKI kit.
[Note: OtaniumSuite
is currently not compatible with PlatinumPAS v1.x]
